Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home: Peter Parker battles with his revealed identity

One of the most awaited movies of the year, Spider-Man:No Way Home, finally releases the trailer on Tuesday, and fans are excited to see what this new movie is going to offer. The trailer has been receiving positive responses and a lot of things are going to be unravelled in this upcoming movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to pick up its story after the events of its previous movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the prequel, we saw Peter Parker take down Mysterio, but his identity is revealed and now everyone knows that Peter Parker is the real Spiderman. So to clear this mess, and to make everyone forget his true identity, Peter goes to take help from Doctor Strange, who casts a spell to erase everyone’s memory about Peter, including MJ, Ned and Aunt May. But then the spell is messed up and the multiverse is opened.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

The trailer opens with MJ and Peter lying down on top of a building and wishing that they could stay there for a while as everything is messed up everywhere. People around the city has also started calling him “Public Enemy #1” and “Devil in disguise”, and he is arrested for the death of Mysterio. Over a call, MJ asks Peter if some part of him is relieved as he doesn’t have to hide about his identity, but Peter says that he never wanted to lie but can’t tell anyone that he is Spiderman.

As a lot of people around Peter are also getting hurt because of this identity reveal, he goes to seek help from Stephen aka Doctor Strange, to make everyone forget his identity. At first, Doctor Strange is warned by Wong to not cast that spell, but he does it anyhow, and it looks like Peter somehow interrupted him saying that MJ, Ned and Aunt May should still know his truth, and now the multiverse is opened. The trailer ends with Doctor Octopus saying “Hello Peter.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, as well as other casts like Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau and J.B. Smoove also reprises the role of Michelle Jones, Ned, Aunt May, Harold and Julius respectively. Benedict Cumberbatch, who appears as Doctor Strange in multiple Marvel movies is also reprising his role, and he is joined by Benedict Wong. Alfred Molina and Willam Dafoe will also be seen as Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, who were previously seen in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.

If the rumors are to be believed then Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who portrayed the same character of Peter Parker in their own respective Spider-Man movies, may also be seen this time. As we saw Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus from those movies. Also, it is expected that their arrival will set the base for the new Doctor Strange movie, Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness.

Other cast includes Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon, Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson, Angourie Rice as Betty Brant, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, and also Tom Holland’s brother Harry Holland will be seen making a cameo appearance as a drug dealer.

When is Spider-Man: No Way Home going to be released?

It is going to be released on 17th December, 2021, after being pushed back many times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The movie will be released in theatres, and also on the OTT platforms like Disney+, Hulu and Netflix.

Will there be another Spider-Man movie in the future?

Although it was said in 2019 that a fourth film was in development along with No Way Home, it is uncertain if there will be a new movie or not.

In February, 2021, Tom Holland said that No Way Home was his final film under his contract with Sony and Marvel, he still hopes to continue this character in the future. Just last month in July, Zendaya said that she is unaware if there will be another Spider-Man movie, so this may be Zendaya’s final appearance in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
