“The best place to keep on dreaming, the best club to keep on winning. We’re going to fight with everything we have for everything.
Ramos gave a farewell speech during his departure from Real Madrid saying, “The moment has arrived. One of the most difficult in my life. You can never be prepared to say goodbye to Real Madrid, but the moment has come to leave Real Madrid. I arrived here with my father and brother when I was 19. Now I have a beautiful family. From the bottom of my heart, thanks a lot to everyone and this is more than an ‘until forever’ or ‘until later’ because sooner or later I will return.”
Upon signing with the new club, the 35 year old footballer said, “I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget.” He continues, “I am very proud to be a part of this ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players. Paris Saint-Germain is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level. I want to continue to grow and improve in Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible.”
He went on to say that he was signed with a ten percent reduction to his previous salary but as it is just for two years, he is okay with that . He says that his family could have continuity and tranquility.
PSG welcomes Ramos saying:
“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the arrival of @sergioramos to the squad. The Spanish central defender has signed a two-year contract and is tied to the club from French capital until 30 June 2023.”
They also shared a 1 minute long clip showing the conference, arrival, reaction and photoshoot of him joining the club. They wrote:
“The capital, his new home 😍
Due to his muscle injuries and knee problems, he had to go through a surgery and played only once since March. He also missed playing for Spain in Euro Cup 2020, as the manager Luis Enrique didn’t select any Real Madrid players in the team for the first time in the country’s history.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman and chief executive for PSG said, “Today, Paris welcomes one of the greatest players of our era. We are delighted to announce that Sergio Ramos has joined us.” Continuing his statement, “Sergio is a complete footballer, one of the best defenders in the history of the game. He is a born competitor, a leader and a true professional. His vast experience and ambition is in perfect synergy with those of the club”.
Besides Ramos, PSG also signed the Morrocon player, Achraf Hakimi, who formerly played for Inter Milan. Another player was the Dutch captain Georginio Wijnaldum, as he ended his three years contract with Liverpool Football Club
It has also been confirmed that the Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, is also going to join the club as he could not agree with the terms of AC Milan.
Currently, the most popular footballers from PSG are Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe
