Siddharth Shukla winner of Big Boss and Balika Vadhu fame passed away on the morning of 2nd September due to a heart attack. He was rushed to Cooper Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Since the news broke out, fans all over the internet have been sending him condolence and power to his close ones.
Siddharth started his career in 2008 with the Indian television show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na on Sony TV. He was casted opposite Aastha Chaudhary, and played the character of Shubh Ranawat in the show. In 2009, he starred as Veer Vardhan Singh in the Star One show Jaane Pehchaane Se.. Ye Ajnabbi, opposite Sanjeeda Sheikh. After the show ended, he also appeared in a few episodes of the horror show Aahat.
In 2011, he played the character of Rahul Kashyap in the show Love U Zindagi opposite Pavitra Punia on Star Plus, and later also appeared in an episode of CID.
Siddharth Shukla rose to fame with his character of Shivraj Shekhar in the very popular Indian television show Balika Vadhu. He was cast opposite Pratyusha Banerjee and Toral Rasputara. His character of Shivraj garnered him a lot of appreciation and widespread critical acclaim and established himself as one of the top actors in the Indian Television industry. He quit the show in 2015, and his character was shown dead while fighting with the terrorists.
He was also a contestant in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, which is the Indian version of Dancing With The Stars. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the 11th week.
Siddharth made his Bollywood debut with the romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. He played the supporting character of Angad Bedi, opposite Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The movie was under the banner of Dharma Production, and was produced by Karan Johar. His performance was met with positive reviews and he also earned an award for “Breakthrough Supporting Performance (Male)“ in the 2015 Stardust Awards.
In 2016, Shukla participated in the stunt reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, and won the competition. Besides that, he has also hosted shows like India’s Got Talent with the Indian comedian Bharti Singh. That same year, he also starred in a Kazakh movie called Business in Kazakhstan, where he played the character of Mr. Chakraborty.
The following year in 2017, Shukla rose to further fame after playing the character of Parth Bhanushali in the Colors TV show Dil Se Dil Tak, alongside Rashami Desai and Jasmin Bhasin. However, he later quit the show and was replaced by Rohan Gandotra.
Shukla started getting a lot of fans after he participated in the reality show Bigg Boss, which is the Indian adaptation of the show Big Brother. Throughout the competition, he became the most popular contestant and was also the most tweeted contestant that season. Due to his popularity, and consistent effort, he won the show.
After winning Bigg Boss, he appeared in a number of music videos like “Bhula Dunga” by Darshan Raval, “Dil Ko Karaar Aaya” by Yasser Desai and Neha Kakkar, and “Shona Shona” by Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar.
Following his death, a lot of well known celebrities in India have paid him tribute.
Jamai Raja fame actor Ravi Dubey took to his Instagram and wrote:
“Shocking and unbelievable …Rest in Peace may you have infinite happiness in the afterlife and may the family have immense strength to cope with this unparalleled loss”.
Dubey’s wife Sargun Mehta also wrote:
“Loss of words. Rip siddharth”.
Rashami Desai, Shukla’s co star in the show Dil Se Dil Tak and also the inmate in Bigg Boss, also shared some pictures of them and wrote:
“Sometimes life gets complicated but today was a reminder that there’s something bigger than all of us. Words don’t make sense anymore. My heart breaks as I type this – rest in peace #SidharthShukla
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fame Anita Hassanandani also wrote:
“Sad beyond words.”
Colors TV, the network with whom Shukla has worked the most, also made a lot of posts for him on Instagram. The network posted an official statement, writing:
“We, at Colors, are saddened and devastated by the sudden loss of our family member, Sidharth Shukla. He will be immensely missed and his passing is an irreparable loss for us and the industry as a whole. Our thoughts, prayers and support are with his family, friends and fans at this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.”
