Cartoons were an important part of our childhood. We grew up watching and loving them. Now, when we look back to those days, they feel like some of the golden memories that have been left behind. But not everything is as shiny as gold as we think.
During all these years, people have come up with different types of conspiracy theories about the cartoons we loved, that can actually ruin our childhood. Upon realizing how dark some of these theories are, we may not look at them in the same way now, the way we used to look at them in our childhood. Let’s start the crazy conspiracy theories of our beloved cartoons Part 2.
Ed, Edd and Eddy:
A classic Cartoon Network show, Ed, Edd and Eddy, is one of the funniest cartoons ever. The show has made a mark for the early 90s kids, as kids did enjoy the show a lot.
The show tells the story of three teenage boys, Ed, Edd (also called Double D), and Eddy. Ed is dim-witted but strong, Edd is an inventor and the most intelligent one, while Eddy is a con artist who claims to be the leader of the group. The story is set in the suburbs of a cul-de-sac in the fictional town of Peach Creek.
The episode follows how the three boys make a plan to scam the kids and take their money to buy jawbreakers, but end up failing and humiliating themself. Other characters in the show include Jimmy, Sarah, Kevin, Rolf, Nazz, etc.
It sounds like a funny and different concept, but the theory is kind of unexpected. It is said that the kids of the cul-de-sac are actually dead and they are living in purgatory. The characters of the show are also shown as they come from different time periods. Rolf comes from the 1900s and owns a farm, while Nazz comes from the 1960s as she is seen wearing hippie outfits.
There are also very few adults, and if you observe the characters closely, they have purple or green tongues, which is not very normal for living kids. After death, the color of our tongue changes, and that is really scary as the show draws similarities to this concept.
One of the biggest and most popular worldwide phenomenons is the 2013 Disney movie, Frozen. The movie became so popular that it won an Academy Award, and the song “Let It Go” became an anthem for many. The sequel of the movie, Frozen 2 was released in 2019 gaining another success.
Frozen is the story of two sisters Elsa and Anna, who are the daughters of the royal family of Arandelle. Elsa has magical powers that can turn anything into ice, and so is isolated from the outer world. After the death of their parents, Elsa steps up to become the Queen of Arandelle but instead traps the whole city in a never-ending winter.
But with the help of Anna, and her friend’s snowman Olaf, Kristoff, and his reindeer Sven, the summer is restored in the kingdom.
One theory says that Frozen and another Disney movie Tarzan are connected. It is shown that Elsa’s parents die as their ship drowns in the sea, but in reality, they are not dead. They were washed up on the shore of Congo, from where they cannot escape, and gave birth to Tarzan.
After giving birth to him, they are killed by Sabor. So, this means that Tarzan is Elsa and Anna’s brother. However, this theory has been debunked in Frozen 2, as the story of their parents are shown from a different perspective.
But the actual theory revolved around Kristoff. He is an iceman and his best friend is his reindeer Sven. We see both of them have been together since his childhood, and Sven trusts Kristoff very much. The theory says that Sven’s mother was actually killed by the clan of Kristoff as they are fishers and hunters.
The skin of the mother reindeer is peeled by them and a jacket is made by it, which is worn by Kristoff. Sven gets the smell of his mother from Kristoff as he is wearing her skin, so Sven is like a mother to Kristoff.
Not gonna lie, we never knew a minor character like Sven can have such a dark theory.
The Fairly Oddparents
Another fine offering of Nickelodeon was The Fairly Oddparents. As a kid, we used to watch the show as it was funny and we could also relate to it sometimes. Even we wanted to get things in our life with a spin of a magic wand.
The Fairly Oddparents is the story of a 10 year old Timmy Turner, who has miserable parents and a vicious babysitter, Vicky. One day, he finds his two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, who fulfill all of his wishes. But the wishes get backfired and the things are brought back to normal at the end of the day.
The conspiracy says that Timmy Turner is actually schizophrenic, and the fairy godparents are someone he imagines, when things get bad for him. Also Cosmo and Wanda are like anti depressants for Timmy as they only appear when he needs them the most. Later they disappear. Also Mr. Krocker is actually his therapist.
It is not an easy task to connect a happy and fun show into something as dark as depression or schizophrenia.
Rugrats was one of the best shows during our childhood. It was never boring and everything used to be so interesting in the show.
Rugrats tells the story of a one year old boy, Tommy Pickles, and his adventure with other kids like Angelica, Chucky, Susie, Phil and Lil. Other characters include Didi, Stu, Grandpa Lou, Kimi, etc.
Actual conspiracy is about Angelica, who is Tommy’s three year old cousin. It is said that all the kids are actually from Angelica’s imagination. Chucky was killed in a car accident with his parents. Tommy was a still born baby, so his father, Stu, is seen making toys in the basement to cope with his death.
Susie was Angelica’s real friend so she always listens to her. Phil and Lil’s parents had abortion, so Angelica couldn’t figure out their gender, so she imagined them as twins. About Angelica, she is schizophrenic and grows up to become a drug addict, and gets flashes of her dark childhood.
Seriously, who comes up with these kinds of dark materials in a light-hearted show?
We Bare Bears:
Another popular cartoon series that made its own Instagram filter is We Bare Bears. The show told the story of three bears: Grizzly, Panda and Ice, who come to live with humans in San Francisco Bay.
Grizzly, Panda and Ice are very good friends, who share a small hideout. They all come from different backgrounds. Grizzly is a grizzly bear, Panda is a panda, while Ice is a polar bear. They all first met at a pet shop, and later lived together. Another character is Chloe, who is a human and the best friend of the bears.
Due to the things are shown in the series, the conspiracy theory kind of makes sense. It is said that the bears are not actually born, but they are humans who felt like an outcast for being different. Grizzly is an extrovert, Panda is an introvert and Ice is autistic. This may be the reason why Ice is always so quiet and Grizzly is the loudest, while Panda enjoys staying in.
Also, when they get sick, they aren’t taken to the veterinarian but instead taken to a hospital. They are the only animals that can talk with humans in the whole city, and no humans feel weird. Chloe, who is a little child, is also not scared of these wild bears. So, this might be true at some point, but overall it’s a very cute show.
Conspiracy Theories are not something that is proved to be 100%, but it’s the assumption of how the things can actually be. Do you think these conspiracy theories about our favorite childhood shows are real, or do you wanna add more? Do let us know.
