As we know the Halloween Day of 2021 is around the corner and everyone needs a very good scare on that day. And what could be better scary than a good horror movie that will give you nightmares for days, and you will have to sleep with your lights on. Today we are going to suggest some of the best horror movies that you can enjoy with your friends, family, or even alone.

Over the period of time, the horror genre has changed a lot and today there are different types of horror movies. We have got the amazing universe of The Conjuring that has been telling us the most scary stories that were experienced by the ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren, and also the Insidious universe that has given us so many chills.

10. Train To Busan:

Set in a zombie apocalypse dystopia, Train to Busan tells the story of Seok-woo and his daughter who were going to Busan from Seoul by train. But a zombie enters the train and soon every passenger starts to get infected and starts the zombie apocalypse across South Korea. Through their journey, they meet a lot of people who battle this disaster together.

Although the movie is set during the day time instead of the format of night like in several horror movies, Train To Busan manages to scare people with the realistic acting of the actors and the VFX so amazing that you will feel like they are real zombies. Also kudos to a strong story that completely encapsulates the audience.

9. The Shining:

A psychic Dr. Fredrich informs them regarding this, and although Katies does take him seriously, Micah is not in favor of him. So to find out what is actually going on, he sets up a camera to record any sort of paranormal activity in the house.

As he sets up the camera, a lot of things start to record that usually happen during the night time. The camera captures events like noise, flickering lights and poltergeist activities that cause some major violent problems like slamming doors and demonic grunts, etc. The movie really gives chills as the night falls and we as a viewer can get to experience the paranormal activities happening in their house while they are asleep.

Rec is a very scary movie that tells the story of a building and its residents that are infected by a type of virus. The story begins with a reporter, Angela Vidal and her cameraman Pablo, who are covering their night shifts in one of Barcelona’s local fire stations for the television series, While You’re Sleeping. As they were doing their show, the firehouse receives a call from a building about an old woman, Mrs. Izquierdo, who is trapped in her apartment. Alex and Manu, who firefighters go to her rescue and Angela and Pablo accompany them.

As they reach the building, the horror starts when all the residents start to get infected by a virus, which is considered to be similar to rabies and was spread by a dog. Mari Carmen and her daughter Jennifer’s dog is blamed for it, but the truth is revealed to be something very dangerous and a girl is still haunting the building and is trapped there.

The story starts with Casey Becker, who receives a phone call from an unknown person, who asks her about horror movies. After failing to answer a question, the caller kills her boyfriend Steve, and later she is killed by that same person.

The caller then calls Sidney and starts to attack her, but is saved. However, the cycle of suspicions go from her boyfriend Billy to her father Neil, but the truth is something different and is revealed in a series of incidents that takes the life of a lot of people.

5. The Conjuring 2:

The family starts to experience different sorts of paranormal activities, and a daughter of the family Janet starts to get possessed by the spirit of an elderly man. Due to all of these things, the demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren decide to get involved in the case along with other paranormal investigators Maurice Grosse and Anita Gregory.

However, the haunting is credited as a hoax, and Lorraine also starts to get visions of Ed’s death, and warns him not to get involved. But as the story progresses, a lot of terrifying truths are revealed that will leave the audience at the edge of the seat, and the nightmare of the demonic nun, Valak, who has got her own separate movie.

4. The Blair Witch Project:

The movie centers around Heather, Mike and Josh, who set out to produce a documentary about the Blair Witch, and travel to Burkittsville, Maryland, where they find out about Rustin Parr, a hermit who killed and kidnapped seven children in the 1940s. Although they were warned by two fishermen, they decide to hike to the woods, where they see a lot of things related to satanic rituals.

They camp that night, but experience a lot of unusual activities that they are not able to explain. As they head off the next morning, they realize that they are lost and this creates a rift between them that causes them to separate and very strange things happen to them which we cannot figure out. Overall, the movie is a different kind of cinematic experience and it will surely give you chills.

3. Annabelle:

Annabelle is another story about the experience of the demonologist Ed and Lorraine Warren, and this time their fight is with a doll that was possessed by a small girl. The story starts in Santa Monica where John Form, a doctor, gives his pregnant wife, Mia, a vintage porcelain doll. However that night, their neighbor, the Higgins are murdered by the Higgins’s boyfriend, and the daughter of the family, Annabelle Higgins commits suicide by slitting her throat. While John and Mia go to save them, they fail to save everyone but they are saved by the police at the right time.

Mia gives birth to a daughter and names her Leah, but the paranormal activities start to take place in the house as Mia is haunted by a malevolent presence in the apartment. She believes that it is Annabelle’s ghost as she sees a dark and terrifying figure in the building’s basement. But the tale doesn’t end here as the doll tries to create a lot of trouble in their life, and it is still terrorizing the world, although the real Annabelle is kept in a sealed glass vessel at the Warren museum.

2. The Exorcist:

Chris MacNeil is an actress who lives with her 12 year old daughter Regan, but Regan soon starts to experience a lot of strange activities and starts to behave strangely and violently. Worried for her daughter, Chris consults various physicians and doctors, but none of them find any physiological flaw on her.

However, things start to get messier when Burke, who was babysitting Regan dies after falling from the window and this case is investigated by William Kinderman along with a priest named Damien Karras. They later conclude that this is a case of demonic possession and Regan is exorcised, showing one of the scariest exorcisms in cinema history. Also the movie contains too many graphic scenes so we warn you to be careful.

However, in an unfortunate event, Dalton falls into a coma and even after three months of no result, Renai and Josh take him back to the house. Soon, a lot of paranormal events start to occur in the house as they start hearing noises from baby monitors from Cali’s room when no one was there. Renai also gets attacked, and Foster tells that Dalton sleepwalks at night even though he is comatosed.

They move to a new house, but the paranormal activities do not end there. Lorraine, Josh’s mother, makes an entry and sees a demon behind Josh, and calls Elise, a psychic and the paranormal investigators Specs and Tucker. Later, Elise says that Dalton is not in coma, but he is astral travelling and is captured in a purgatory realm called “The Further”, where a lot of tortured souls live. The story moves forward with a lot of scary happening and unexpected things being revealed. Overall, this movie is going to scare the shit out of you, and guess what? The movie is followed by three other movies.
